Kaisariani Monastery – St. Irene Monastery
Within walking distance from the center of Athens, at an altitude of 350 meters around the forest of Hymettus conditions, a beautiful natural landscape, is the famous Monastery of Kaisariani. The monastery is one of the unalterable monuments preserved from the time of the Byzantine Empire.
Built in the late 11th century AD or early 12th in honor of the Virgin Mary, and it stopped working in 1833. It is a unique architectural attraction decorated by numerous frescoes kept in great condition.
After a few minutes a beautiful ride through the green, embark to go to the north-west of Athens, in the green pine to visit the Hagia Irene Monastery which is located in a beautiful area of 50 acres.
